Nearly four years ago, I lost my father — a loss that shook me deeply. Around that same time, I became a mother to my beautiful little girl. And in that season of grief and new life, something inside me shifted.

My priorities changed. My heart changed.

There was nothing harder than dropping my baby off at school at 7 in the morning, sitting in traffic for an hour, and then only seeing her for a few minutes before bedtime. It broke me knowing that so much of her life was being spent with teachers and her grandmother while I was stuck in a routine that no longer felt aligned with the life I wanted.

I knew something had to change.

So I prayed… and I listened.

An opportunity came — a half-day position just 5 minutes from home. It meant taking a major pay cut, but I believed I could make up for it with a side hustle. And with faith, I took the leap.

But life had other plans.

Just three months in, that side hustle collapsed. Financial pressure grew. My husband had to carry the weight of the income gap, and the stress it placed on our relationship was overwhelming.

And that wasn’t all…

In the span of just two years, we walked through some of the hardest moments of our lives:
• Losing parents on both sides
• My husband facing major heart failure and surgery
• Becoming new parents
• Moving homes
• Changing jobs

It was a storm of grief, pressure, and uncertainty — all at once.

And honestly… it nearly broke us.

But in that breaking point, something powerful happened.

I made a decision.

I decided I wasn’t going to stay stuck. I wasn’t going to keep searching endlessly for solutions that never quite worked. I wasn’t going to let other women feel as overwhelmed, lost, and stretched as I had.

And that’s when Design Events by MMC was born.

Not just as another online store…

But as a space built with heart and purpose.

A place where women can:
